OneFamily expands Over 50s benefits package

Posted in: Corporate

OneFamily has expanded the comprehensive benefits package offered with its Over 50s Life Cover to include an advice service for carers, an app for cancer patients and a coaching service for cancer survivors as they return to work.

OneFamily works with RedArc to provide comprehensive long-term one-to-one personal support as a standard benefit with its Over 50’s Life Cover.  From the outset of the policy, with no qualifying period, customers can receive support from their own dedicated Personal Nurse

The cover already includes emotional support to help customers and their loved ones to cope with the diagnosis of a serious or terminal illness or practical help by providing information and advice whilst they are undergoing treatment.

Paul Bridgwater of OneFamily explained,

“We’ve added extra support, which we think our customers will find invaluable.  So, for those with care responsibilities there’s Podplan, which provides information and help for carers on a range of practical, financial and social issues relating to the elderly.

“Then there’s the Careology app for people undergoing cancer treatment, which puts the patient in control of their cancer journey and makes the diagnosis a little easier to manage.  The data from the app can be shared with RedArc’s experienced, registered nurses to ensure the customer receives the best possible personalised support.

“Finally, we’ve included Working With Cancer, which provides coaching and training services for cancer survivors to help them as they return to the normality of work and the financial independence it provides.

“We want to support our customers as they face life’s ups and downs and, with our extended package, we’re with them every step of the way.”

Christine Husbands, the Managing Director of RedArc said,

“Providing long-term expert medical and emotional support from our team of nurses is at the heart of what we do. However, we recognise the value that specialist partners bring and we are delighted to work with Podplan, Careology and Working With Cancer to help us improve the lives of our patients with Cancer or elderly care issues”

The OneFamily Over 50s policy offers terminal illness benefit as standard and guarantees acceptance, with no medical needed.    Premiums start from £10 per month.  OneFamily has been awarded the 2021 What Mortgage Award for Best Life Insurance Provider.

OneFamily Foundation

The OneFamily Foundation was set up to benefit OneFamily customers, their families and the communities in which they live and work. OneFamily is owned by its customers, rather than shareholders, which means it focuses on offering added value for customers instead of running the business to pay dividends to shareholders. The Foundation has awarded £4 million since 2015 through its personal and community-based funding initiatives.

OneFamily customers can apply for a Young Persons Education Grant of up to £500 which are awarded monthly, to help them or someone, aged 15-19, they care about.  They can be used for study materials, to travel costs or a new laptop.

Alternatively, OneFamily customers can nominate a project close to their heart for a Community Grant of up to £2500.  These awards have helped communities to fund projects including the renovation of swimming pools, parks and supporting dementia charities.
